How Portland’s Entrepreneurs Are Growing, Hiring, and Investing in the Region
In the inaugural member survey of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization of Portland (EO Portland), 94 business owners across more than 20 industries reveal a story of sustained growth, aggressive local investment, and deep community commitment — even as economic uncertainty, tariff disruptions, and shifting federal policies create some of the most challenging operating conditions in recent memory.
The data paints a clear picture: Portland’s small and mid-size businesses are not retreating. They are hiring locally, launching new products and services, expanding into new markets, and giving back to the region that sustains them. This report presents the key findings, organized around four themes: growth and job creation, community investment, the challenges business owners are navigating, and the role of peer networks in building more resilient companies.
