Metronomics

Mission

Metronomics exists so that no CEO has to feel as alone in the job as our founder once did. We give growing companies one connected system—strategy, execution, cash, and team health working together—and a coach who has run the play, so leaders can scale with clarity instead of heroics.

OVERVIEW Of Our Work

Metronomics is a coaching and software company built for CEOs scaling from roughly $5M to $100M+. Most leadership teams at that stage are not short on frameworks—they are short on a system where those frameworks actually talk to each other. Strategy sits in one document, quarterly execution in another, cash in a spreadsheet, and team health nowhere at all.

Metronomics connects seven disciplines—culture, team cohesion, talent, strategy, execution, cash, and coaching—into one operating system, so progress in one area compounds the others instead of competing with them. Companies work with a certified coach who introduces one system per quarter rather than dropping everything on the team at once, supported by our Metronome Growth Systems software as the single source of truth.

The system was not built in a consulting firm. Founder Shannon Byrne Susko built it while running her own companies, then used it to scale and sell two of them. Today Metronomics works with 3,000+ CEOs and leadership teams through certified coaches worldwide, and companies running the system average 30%+ yearly growth.

EO MEMBER TESTIMONIALs

“For five consecutive years, our annual revenue hovered around $5M. We were stuck there. It is just 3 1/2 years since Shannon agreed to coach me and my team; we are on track for $9M+ this year. More importantly though, she has helped me to grow as a CEO and get confident in predictable profit as the company grows. She has lived through what I am experiencing, come through the other side, and thrived.”
— Carl Saunders, CEO, Vorum Research
“A CEO who has a coach with this system has a huge advantage over a CEO that does not. If you plug in to the process, your job as a CEO becomes much lighter. There’s a huge feeling of freedom because you’re not alone. You’re not trying to figure things out by reading books and trying to mimic what worked for someone else. You’re embracing a system that’s proven to work.”
— Joe Miller, President, Seal Masters

topics we can teach FORUM groups

Shannon and our certified coaches are happy to run a Forum learning session or a workshop. Topics we’re hired to teach most often:

Strategy

  • The 3HAG™ — building a three-year plan detailed enough that your team can actually see it, not a vision statement nobody reads

  • Finding your real competitive advantage — mapping where you win, where you don’t, and where the open field is

Execution

  • Turning a strategic plan into quarterly priorities the team owns without the CEO chasing them

  • Meeting rhythm — the daily, weekly, and quarterly cadence that replaces status updates with decisions

Cash

  • Why profitable companies run out of money — the cash conversion cycle, explained for operators

  • The Power of One — the seven levers that move cash, and how to find which one matters most in your business

Team and culture

  • Building a leadership team that makes decisions without you in the room

  • Hiring and keeping A-Players — scorecards, 90-day reviews, and the cost of a bad hire

The CEO’s own job

  • The Desperate CEO phase — why working harder stops working around $5M–$10M, and what changes on the other side

  • Scaling toward an exit — what buyers actually pay for, from a founder who sold two companies

  • Outgrowing your first operating system — what to do when EOS or Scaling Up stops carrying you

Sessions run from a 45-minute Forum slot to a half-day workshop.

Meet Shannon byrne susko, founder of metronomics

Shannon Byrne Susko is a two-time exited CEO, author, and founder of Metronomics. She co-founded and scaled Paradata, then applied everything she learned to build Subserveo from day one using a single connected operating system, selling it in exactly 3 years and 3 months. Both exits earned national recognition: ACG Dealmaker of the Year and a top-three mid-market deal ranking on Wall Street in 2011.

After her second exit, CEOs started calling. They had watched her scale two companies at uncommon valuations and wanted to know how. That question became a coaching practice, four books, and a software platform now used by 3,000+ CEOs and leadership teams worldwide.

Her four books — The Metronome Effect, 3HAG WAY, Metronomics, and The M Game — document the system she built and the method she now teaches.
