Meet EO Member
Brenda Crow, Founder of Little Beast Brewing
In a city full of beer, we stand out by crafting exceptional, small-batch brews that balance creativity with quality — from wild, mixed culture and sour beers to dialed-in classics like our top-selling West Coast IPA, Pinetop. Our Southeast Portland beer garden, set in a vintage craftsman home with a spacious patio, is the perfect place to gather and enjoy what we do best.
>What are you looking forward to in the next 6 months? [As of March 2025]
In the next six months, I’m looking forward to a mix of adventure, growth, and pure joy. I’m heading to Japan in April to take part in Fuji to Hood, a collaborative beer and culture festival bringing together Portland and Japanese breweries. Before the event, I’ve carved out time to explore the Nakasendo trail and soak in the beauty of Japan’s mountain villages. Back home, we’re thrilled to welcome Prettyboy Pizza as our new food partner at the beer garden — I think it’s going to be our best culinary collaboration yet. And on a personal note, Thorns season is here! I’ve got season tickets and can’t wait to be cheering them on at Providence Park all spring and summer long.
>What makes your brewery unique?
One thing that sets us apart is how we make our sour beers. We’ve developed our own unique process that lets us create refreshingly tart, clean, and balanced sour beers that people love. Unlike many quick-sour methods, ours uses a true mixed culture fermentation — a living culture of yeast and bacteria that’s never pasteurized. The result is a bright, flavorful beer made with intention and high craftsmanship.
>Tell us about one of your hobbies!
I love to unwind in my garden — weather permitting! I’m currently working toward my Master Gardener Certification, so I’m deep in learning, volunteering, and getting my hands in the soil. I grow all kinds of vegetables, but let’s be honest — I’m mostly obsessed with my tomatoes. Cooking with what I grow is my joy. Before starting the brewery, I spent most of my career in specialty food, and that passion has never left me. I love exploring cultures through food — from Vietnamese Bún Riêu to Japanese Oyakodon to rustic Italian dishes made from scratch. And when the day calls for quiet, you’ll usually find me curled up with a good book.
>What was your favorite EO moment so far?
One of my favorite EO moments was traveling to Egypt on a MyEO Women’s trip. It was a magical adventure, shared with an incredible group of women with whom we had instant connection — or as EO calls it, instamacy. We cruised the Nile on a dahabiya boat, explored some of the oldest human artifacts on earth, and shared deeply meaningful conversations. It gave me perspective on my place in the world, and I was especially inspired by the Goddess Neith — the deity who created herself, by herself.
