Jeremy Hyatt, Founder of Hyatt Strength + Wellness

Hyatt Strength + Wellness offers custom 1:1 personal training services rooted in strength and conditioning but extending into all areas of lifespan and healthspan — particularly nutrition, sleep, and stress management. We believe that strength is wellness and that building and maintaining lean muscle is the best way to optimize health at any age. We work with individuals of all ages and exercise experience levels to create custom programming that meets you where you are.

>What makes your business unique?
We’re a gym with heart. We’re local + family-owned, and are on a continuous quest to offer more value to our clients and employees while staying accessible and competitive. We sweat the small (and big) stuff, so the people who walk through our doors don’t have to.

>What are you looking forward to in the next 6 months?
I had fallen into a mode where it was easier to read about it than to actually do it. I am leaning into EO Membership as an action plan — to implement the ideas I have been curating and grow them with support and guidance from this group.

>What's a mistake you've made that became a major learning moment?
We screwed up the semantics between employees and independent contractors when we launched our business. We treated our team like employees, but the pandemic absolutely crushed us because they were compensated as ICs. Our business model is much more clear now and we can support our team more than ever. We are breaking the paradigm of hustle culture in fitness and offer a career-track, employee-driven system for our team.

>How do you see AI entering your field?
We use AI to spark new ideas and break ruts with program design, as a calorie tracker and meal planner, and to complement our trainer education. It also highlights the power of our social deliverables: AI can write a decent program, but it can't correct your form, tell you to back off when you've had a rough day, or give you a high five for a job well done. You simply cannot replace the power of human connection.
